How to Go?

By Road: Amasya is connected to neighbouring cities Samsun, Corum and Tokat by a highway. There are regular buses from Ankara to Amasya The bus terminal is approx 2 km from the city center. Amasya is 130 km from Samsun, 335 km from Ankara and 685 km from Istanbul. The city is also located on the Europe-Iran highway.

By Air: Air travel is provided from Merzifon and Samsun.

By Rail: Amasya is 261 km from Sivas and 134 km from Samsun on the Sivas-Samsun railway. There are 2 large railroad stations and 6 stations within the city.

By Sea: Closest seaports to Amasya are in Samsun, 130 km to Amasya.



PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Inner city transportation is done with minibuses and bus services. Also, there is a car rental company very near the train station.

You can get a bus service or taxi to the town square, everything is within easy walking distance. If you are going on day trips to other villages in the region, you can find small privately-owned buses that come and go if you ask around.
